Still time for community to submit memories and photos of Stockton in the 1970s and 1980s for new book

MEMORIES and photographs of Stockton-on-Tees and the surrounding communities in the 1970s and 1980s are wanted for a new book by Heritage Unlocked historian Dr Tosh Warwick.

Memories of Stockton-on-Tees in the 1970s and 1980s, to be published by Heritage Unlocked and designed by Peter Hinton Design in Summer 2021, will feature hundreds of photographs of the town and surrounding areas including Norton, Thornaby and Yarm. Oral histories and historic material from the collections of Teesside Archives will also feature alongside memories from local communities. There are also plans to work with local businesses, community groups and cultural venues as part of the wider project.

MEMORIES and previously unpublished photographs of Middlesbrough from the 1970s and 1980s feature in a new book by historian and Heritage Unlocked consultant Dr Tosh Warwick. Memories of Middlesbrough in the 1970s and 1980s has brought together images and recollections of the area, including unique material from John Severs’ photographic collection, to shed new light on two turbulent decades for Teesside.

'Bridging the World' book to celebrate Teesside's bridge building history

TEESSIDE’S contribution to bridge building across the globe is to be celebrated in a new book by historian Dr Tosh Warwick. Bridging the World, to be published next year by Heritage Unlocked, draws upon a range of historic collections including Teesside Archives’ British Steel Collection to explore the role famous bridge building firms including Cleveland Bridge, Dorman Long, and Teesside Bridge and Engineering played in designing, constructing or restoring landmarks across the globe.
